SILVER ANNIVERSARY

The Catholic Tour Company began business in 2003, although its founder, Mr. James G. Adair, started his personal apostolate of taking pilgrims to the Marian Shrines of Europe in 1981. Mr. Adair began his work as the volunteer co-coordinator and chief salesperson for the Blue Army of Fatima Pilgrimage Division. He is responsible for over 100,000 pilgrims having traveled to Catholic Shrines and places associated with the faith in Europe, North America and the Lands of the Bible.

The Blue Army and Fatima Travel organized weekly pilgrimages to Fatima, Lourdes, Rome, Holy Land and Ireland on its own Boeing 707 called the "Queen of the World." By its third year of operation, 28,000 pilgrims visited Our Lady’s Shrine at Fatima Portugal.

With that experience under his belt, Mr. Adair, with the knowledge of Bishop Anthony M. Pilla of the Diocese of Cleveland, incorporated Regina Tours. The company became one of the largest Catholic pilgrimage operators in the U.S., transporting 4,000 to 9,000 pilgrims per year on scheduled air carriers such as Alitalia, Lufthansa, United, Continental, TAP Air Portugal, and others.

In March of 1999, Regina Tours became part of the FAR & WIDE Travel Corporation. This intended and strategic move gave Regina the marketing and buying power of its parent company, an organization 25 years in existence with a well defined line of tour products and 10 times the size and purchasing strength of the original pilgrimage tour operator, Regina Tours.

Regina’s credentials were impressive and continued to grow each year, although its mission did not change since its founding. The organization was founded by volunteer pilgrimage promoters whose goal was to transport as many Catholic pilgrims as possible to the Shrines of the Church. Mr. Adair has witnessed the conversions, healings and the emotion involved in these group pilgrimage tours, but most importantly, the number of passengers who are drawn to the center of the Catholic faith in the Blessed Sacrament.

At its inception, Regina Tours was dedicated to our Lady of Guadalupe as Patroness of the Unborn. The apostolate also strove for an increase in priestly and religious vocations through the prayers of its many pilgrims.

After a year sabbatical, Mr. Adair started an Internet company, OneCause, dedicated to raising funds for Catholic churches, schools and other worthwhile organizations. Mr. Adair then started his newest tour company, The Catholic Tour Company, in order to once again facilitate the taking of pilgrims on Catholic pilgrimages throughout Europe, Mexico and the Holy Land. The Catholic Tour Company is dedicated our Our Lady of Fatima.
