ITINERARY
Day
1: Depart USA
We
depart on our overnight flight. Enjoy dinner and breakfast served on
our overnight flight.
Day 2: Lyon
Arrive in Paris where you will transfer to your flight to Lyon. In
Lyon the group will be met by the tour guide and taken for a
half-day sightseeing tour of Lyon. See the Roman Theater and visit
beautiful churches such as the Basilica of Notre Dame and the Gothic
Cathedral of St. Jean. Dinner and overnight in Lyon.

Day 3: Ars / Sur
/ Forman (St. John Vianney's Feast Day)
After breakfast we depart to Ars, a small city just northwest of
Lyon. En route, stop in Ecully where St. John Vianney studied, and
Dardilly where he was born. St. John Vianney, known as the Cure of
Ars (Patron of all Priests) received many supernatural gifts from
the Lord. In Ars we will walk into the village centre to celebrate
mass in the parish church, which Jean Vianney restored and extended.
There will be a video presentation followed by a guided tour, which
will include the Presbytery where he lived (which is kept as it
would have been during his lifetime), and the Basilica, which
displays the saint’s incorrupt body, the Heart Chapel, which
contains the Saint’s heart, and La Providence (the orphanage he
founded). In the afternoon, there will be an opportunity to visit
the unique waxwork exhibition which portrays the most important
episodes of the life of The Cure D’Ars. Return to Lyon for dinner
and overnight in Lyon.

Day 4: Ars
(Optional excursion to: The Dombes: Trevoux, Perouges and Our Lady
of the Sacred Heart)
Today will be at leisure in Ars or you are welcome to join an
OPTIONAL excursion to Dombes: an extensive area dotted with many
small lakes and forests. A stop will be made in Trevoux, the capital
of the Dombes, which occupies a stunning position on a plateau
overlooking the River Saone. The historic centre of Trevoux is very
pleasant, with medieval houses and panoramic views. A short journey
will then take us to Perouges, which is considered one of the most
beautiful villages in France. There will be a time for lunch here
and a guided tour. On our return to Ars we stop at Meribel to see a
remarkable statue of ‘Our Lady of the Sacred Heart’, which at
thirty-three metres high, is the tallest religious statue in France.
Mass will be celebrated during the day. Dinner on your own.
Overnight in Lyon.

Day 5: Lyon / Paris
This morning we fly to Paris. Enjoy a half day sightseeing tour of
beautiful Paris. On our tour we will see the famous sights of Paris
including the Eiffel Tower, The Arc de Triomphe, and the Church of
Notre Dame de Paris. The group will then be visiting the Rue du Bac
Chapel – St. Catherine Laboure - and around the corner we will visit
the church containing the incorrupt body of St. Vincent de Paul. You
will also visit the Miraculous Medal Shrine and the Sacre Coeur.
Dinner on your own followed by an Optional Seine River Cruise
through beautiful Paris – the City of Lights! Overnight at your
hotel.

Day 6: Paris /
Rome
After breakfast transfer to Charles de Gaulle Airport for our flight
to Rome. Transfer from Rome airport to your hotel for dinner and
overnight.

Day 7: Rome
(Papal Blessing)
The group will attend one of the highlights of the trip, the Papal
Blessing (if available). After the Audience we also visit three
major basilicas in Rome: St. Mary Major, St. John Lateran - the
Cathedral of Rome - and St. Paul Outside the Walls, built over the
Saint's burial place.. Dinner on your own. Overnight in Rome.

Day 8: Rome
After breakfast we depart for our full day guided sightseeing tour
of the "Eternal City." The highlights include the Catacombs and the
Appian Way, Capitoline Hill, St. Peter in Chains. Also, enjoy a
guided tour of the world famous Vatican Museums, featuring a visit
to the Sistine Chapel, followed by a tour of St. Peter's Basilica.
Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Day 9: Rome /
USA
Depart for Rome Airport for our flight home. Arrive USA same day.
