Greece & Islands with Ephesus
12 Day Itinerary |
DAY 1: DEPART USA
Depart the USA for Greece on our transatlantic flight. Dinner and
breakfast served aboard overnight flight.
DAY 2: ATHENS / THESSALONIKI
Arrive in Macedonia where we are greeted by our Tour Escort and
transferred to our hotel. Dinner and overnight in Thessaloniki. (D)
DAY 3: THESSALONIKI /
PHILIPPI
After breakfast at the
hotel we depart for our guided tour beginning with Kavala, the port
where Paul first landed with Timothy and Silas. We then continue on
to Philippi, where Paul was imprisoned. View the prison, the Market
Place, Basilica and Theater. Also visit the Amphipolis, famous
starting point of Alexander the Great on his mission to "conquer the
world." Dinner and overnight Thessaloniki. (B,D)
DAY 4: THESSALONIKI / KALAMBAKA
Today you will visit the
Archeological Museum, St. George Church, the Galerius Arch and the
Basilica of St. Sophia and St. Dimetrius before continuing to
Macedonia. This afternoon we visit Pella, birthplace of Alexander
the Great, and the famous steps of Paul in Beria, where he preached.
Continue to Kalambaka for dinner and overnight (B,D)
DAY 5: KALAMBAKA / DELPHI
This morning we visit
Meteora, where we will ascend huge granite rocks to view
architectural wonders over 700 years old. Visit the monastery of
Metamorphosis with its church and Museum containing priceless
historic and religious treasures. Continue to Delphi for dinner and
overnight. (B,D)

DAY 6: DELPHI / ATHENS
We depart after breakfast
for Apollo. We will see the Treasury, the Theater, the Archeological
Museum and the first monument built in the ancient world to "One
God." Dinner and overnight in Athens. (B,D)
DAY 7: ATHENS
Our tour today takes us to the Acropolis and the ruins of Parthenon,
Mars Hill, the Agora and other ancient sites. Dinner and overnight in
Athens. (B,D)

DAY 8: CRUISING / MYKONOS
Transfer to the port of
Piraeus for embarkation on our cruise ship. Enjoy the many shipboard
activities or just relax while sailing to the Island of Mykonos with
its jet-set atmosphere, whitewashed buildings, sidewalk cafes and
chic shops. Here we will see the Archeological Museum and Temples.

DAY 9: PATMOS / KUSADASI
/ EPHESUS
This morning we arrive at the island of Patmos and the Monastery of
St. John the Divine, who received the Revelation here that forms the
Last Book of the New Testament. Continue to .Kusadasi, Turkey site
of one of the "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World," Ephesus.

DAY 10: HERAKLION / SANTORINI
This morning we arrive in
Heraklion, Crete, site of the Palace of Knossos, legendary home of
the Minotaur. OPTIONAL shore excursion available to the Palace. This afternoon we sail to Santorini, perched on the
rim of an ancient volcano and believed by many to be the site of the
Lost Continent of Atlantis. Itinerary could change with a stop at
Rhodes instead of Crete & Santorini. (B,L,D)
DAY 11: CRUISE / PIRAEUS /
CORINTH / ATHENS
Morning arrival into the
port of Piraeus. Disembark after breakfast and Depart for Corinth
along St. Paul’s original journey. Walk the marketplace where St.
Paul preached then visit the Archeological Museum and the Temples.
Here Paul founded the first church consisting entirely of Gentiles.
Return to Athens by way of the Corinth Canal and Cenchraeae harbor.
Paul sailed from this site to Ephesus. Dinner and overnight in
Athens. (B,D)
DAY 12 Tue: ATHENS / USA
After breakfast, transfer to the
airport for our return flight to the USA arriving home the same day.
