Rome & Fatima
9 Day Itinerary |
Day 1: Depart USA
Depart on an international flight to Rome. Meals will be served
aboard flight.
Day 2: Rome
Upon arrival in Rome, you will be met by tour guide/escort after
going though customs and securing your luggage. You will be
escorted to your waiting deluxe motorcoach and transferred to
hotel. En route,
enjoy a
panoramic tour
from the motorcoach
of some
of Rome’s sites,
such as the
Appian Way,
Capitoline Hill,
The Colosseum,
The Forum, Arch
of Constantine,
Circus Maximus,
and Palazzo
Venezia.
Balance of day is
at leisure to rest,
shop or go sightseeing. Dinner and overnight in Rome. (D)
Day 3: Rome
After breakfast depart for Papal Audience. After a break for lunch
on your own enjoy a sightseeing tour of the "Eternal City." The tour will
include the Catacombs, and you will also visit three major basilicas
in Rome: St. Mary Major, St. John Lateran, and St. Paul Outside the
Walls. Dinner on your own and
overnight in Rome. (B)
Day 4: Rome
After breakfast, join the group for a
half-day tour of magnificent St. Peter’s Basilica including a visit
to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Day 5: Rome / Fatima
Depart for Fatima via air. You will be met by our Professional
Pilgrimage Escort at Lisbon Airport and transferred to your hotel in
Fatima. En route enjoy a panoramic tour of the beautiful capital
city of Lisbon. Dinner and overnight in Fatima. (B,D)
Day 6: Fatima
This morning visit the places of interest in the Cova da Iria, including
the Basilica, with the tombs of the children, Jacinta and Francisco, and Sr.
Lucia, the Chapel of the Apparitions (Capelinha), and the
miraculous fountain. Continue for a visit to the original homes of
the children, the parish church, and cemetery. Afternoon at leisure
for private devotions. This evening enjoy the candlelight procession
(seasonally). A video presentation on the history of Fatima
and the apparitions will be offered at the Consolata Fathers. (B,D)
Day 7: Fatima
Today is a free day in Fatima
for personal devotion. An
OPTIONAL side trip will be
available to visit the spectacular
monasteries of Batalha,
Alcobaca, and the colorful fishing
village of Nazare. Return to
Fatima with balance of day at
leisure. Dinner and overnight in
Fatima. (B,D)
Day 8: Fatima / Lisbon
Depart Fatima for Lisbon. En
route, stop in Santarem to view
the "Miracle of the Bleeding
Host" and celebrate Mass.
Continue to Lisbon for a halfday
tour consisting of visits to
the Praca do Comercio, which
has been compared to Venice's
Piazza di San Marco. Then continue with a drive to the Alfama,
the oldest quarter of Lisbon, to see the Castelo de Sao Jorge, a
Moorish castle with medieval ramparts. The view of Lisbon and its
bay is spectacular from this point. Finally, enjoy a tour of St.
Anthony’s Basilica and the nearby Lisbon Cathedral. Check-in at
hotel with balance of day at leisure. (B,D)
Day 9: Lisbon / USA
Depart hotel after breakfast for transfer to Lisbon airport and
return flight home. Arrive U.S. same day. (B)
