Pilgrimage to Rome   8 Day Itinerary

 

ITINERARY - 8 DAYS

 

Day 1 Mon. Nov 26: Depart USA

The group will depart on an overnight flight to Rome. Meals will be served.

 

Day 2 Tue. Nov. 27: Rome

Upon arrival at the Rome Airport the group will be transferred by deluxe motor coach to the hotel. Enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour of Rome from your motor coach, including important sights like the Piazza Venezia, Circus Maximus, Forum, Arch of Constantine and Colosseum.  Enjoy dinner at the hotel your first night in the “Eternal City.” Overnight in Rome. Day 3 Wed. Nov 28: Rome

The group will attend one of the highlights of the trip, the Papal Audinece (if available). After the audience, enjoy visits to three of the four major Basilicas of Rome: St. Paul’s Outside the Walls, St. John Lateran and St. Mary Major. Dinner on your own. Overnight in Rome. (B)

 

Day 4 Thu. Nov. 29: Rome

Enjoy a guided tour of St. Peter’s Basilica and the world famous Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel.  Balance of the day is at leisure. Dinner and overnight in Rome. (B,D)

Day 5 Fri. Nov. 30: Rome (Option: Assisi)

Free Day, Rome or OPTIONAL excursion to Assisi - Depart early morning for the town of St. Francis, Assisi.  A tour will include visits to the Basilica of St. Francis (view the exquisite artwork of Giotto), Convent of St. Clare, and Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels with Portiuncula chapel. Afternoon free to explore Assisi. Dinner on your own and overnight in Rome. (B)

Day 6 Sat. Dec. 1: Rome (Option: Tivoli)

Free day, Rome or OPTIONAL excursion to Tivoli to see Hadrian’s Villa and Villa D’Este.  Dinner on your own and overnight in Rome. (B)

 

Day 7 Sun. Dec. 2: Rome

Today is a day at leisure. Or OPTIONAL tour of the catacombs. Dinner on your own and overnight in Rome. (B)

 

Day 8 Mon. Dec. 3: Rome / USA

After breakfast depart Rome Airport for U.S.A. (B
